The Five Nations
The Five Nations were the provinces of the united Kingdom of Galifar, each named after one of Galifar ir'Wynarn's five children.
When King Jarot died in 894 YK, the succession dispute between his heirs ignited the Last War - a century-long conflict that shattered the kingdom and reshaped the continent forever.
When Cyre was destroyed and became the Mournlands, the Treaty of Thronehold was drafted and signed to end the war. Many of the original nations were ultimately unhappy with the lack of resolution and losses they had faced, but feared the Mourning could re-occur.
